Quite possibly the best opening line to an anime episode ever

+ Epic Yuki scene

+ Talking Philosopher Cat

+ Not-shounen-ai Koizumi scene

+ Opportunity strikes, but Kyon is too cool for Haruhi

+ Facepalm ending shot

= Epic episode.

It’s been a while since I last saw an episode that could blend comedy, drama, massive amounts of information and plot, and talking cats without crashing and failing horribly somewhere along the line.  The ending felt natural – not forced at all, despite how much potential that the dialogues with Mikuru, Yuki, and Koizumi released.  Though I do feel like I’m hanging on a bit of a cliff here.

If Disappearance airs this year, praise the gods of the crystal crescent!
